Connections Media is pleased to announce that the firm’s work has again been honored with a Webby Award. The firm created the ParentToolkit.com site for NBC News’ Education Nation program, which was named 2016’s best site in the Family/Parenting category.
ParentToolkit.com has been recognized by the Webby Awards as a nominee in the Family/Parenting category for three years in a row, and also won the category in 2014.
For Connections Media, this is the fifth consecutive year the firm has been named a finalist for a Webby Award and its third win. In addition to the two Webbys awarded to ParentToolkit.com, the firm was recognized for its work in online film and video for NBC News’ Education Nation live webcasts in 2012.
“We’re proud of our collaboration with the education and parent engagement initiatives at NBC, and we’re obviously thrilled to have that work recognized with a Webby for a third time,” Connections Media CEO Jonah Seiger said. “We have a talented team continually improving and enhancing this site to serve the families and communities who use the Parent Toolkit. It’s terrific to see that work — as well as the leadership of NBC’s education team and the support of Pearson Education — spotlighted with this honor.”
Connections Media has been nominated for a Webby Award six times: In 2012 and 2013 for its work with Education Nation, twice in 2014 for the Parent Toolkit site and for Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Mayors Challenge site, and for the Parent Toolkit again in 2015 and 2016.
ParentToolkit.com is produced by NBC News’ Education Nation with support from Pearson Education. The website and corresponding iOS and Android apps are designed to provide parents with effective tips and tools to help guide the development of their children in school and beyond the classroom, from Pre-K through high school. The content on ParentToolkit.com was developed in collaboration with national experts ranging from teachers and professors to doctors and parents.
The Webby Awards are widely regarded as the top international awards recognizing Internet industry leaders and are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). They are judged by a panel that includes web experts, business executives, and creative professionals. The 2016 Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from all 50 states and more than 70 countries. Webby Award winners will be celebrated in a ceremony on May 16th.
